Tammy J. Sullivan is a longtime employee/manager in the Auto Auction Business with 40 years’ experience in this industry. Sullivan started working at two independent auctions in Columbus, Ohio on the Ohio State Fairgrounds back in 1973. She was afforded the opportunity to go to IBM school to learn the System 32. At this time in the industry, this auction was one of the first in the country to be computerized. During her career in the auto auction business, she has worked with IBM System 32, System 34, System 36 and AS400.
Sullivan started with Anglo American Auto Auctions in 1985 when they entered the United States market place as their Systems Installations Coordinator. As they purchased auctions, she traveled to these new locations for their system installation and training to the employees. Sullivan’s positions have included Systems, Office Manager, Controller, Business Manager and Assistant General Manager at auction locations.
In 1995, Sullivan was hired as a Senior Manager to lead an auction company start-up in Chattanooga, TN. Starting with 59 acres of undeveloped land, Sullivan assisted with all phases of the $8 million construction of a full-service, state-of-the-art automotive remarketing facility. Chattanooga Auto Auction consists of five buildings totaling over 50,000 square feet and services dealer consignments, auto manufacturers, finance companies and government agencies. Sullivan established and negotiated alliances with the State of Tennessee, City of Chattanooga, Hamilton County and GSA and captured large national accounts such as Honda Financial, HSBC, Mitsubishi Motor Sales and Triad Financial.
In 2008, Sullivan and her husband launched RTS Management Consulting that has generated revenue & profit enhancements and efficiencies for their clients in the automotive industry by improving the return on sales & marketing efforts while lowering costs to execute these efforts; and using information technology to make organizations more effective while ensuring alignment with the client’s business goals.
September 2011 she has hired by Auction Software Inc. as one of the System Installation Coordinator. She worked with this system since 1996 and was one of the first ten auctions that had this software operating system in the auction industry.
Her current position as AAAG System Specialist began in June 2012. The responsibilities include installation, training of auction personnel, administrative efficiencies, assisting in financial reporting and controls.
Sullivan has been an active member of her industry’s professional association at both a regional and national level. Serving as a Board Member with the National Auto Auction Association and the Southern Auto Auction Association. She was involved with the Independent Auto Auction and the Site/Convention Committees. Was an active member of ServNet serving as the Secretary/Treasurer from 2002-2006.
A firm believer in giving back to her community, Sullivan has led fundraising efforts for Ronald McDonald House Charities, Alzheimer’s Association, the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera, the American Cancer Society, Pancreatic Cancer (PANCAN) and the American Lung Association.
